How does the zone finder work?
In Hungary paid parking is divided into zones, and each zone has its own tariff, maximum parking time and paid hours. If you do not know which zone you are in, this page shows the exact zone and the neighbouring zones on the map based on your location.
Once you have the zone, you see the current tariffs and the paid hours right away, and you can start parking straight from your phone, with no parking meter.
How does the zone finder work?
How can I find out which parking zone I am in?
The Parking Hungary zone finder uses your phone's location to show exactly which parking zone you are in and draws the neighbouring zones on the map. Once you select a zone, you immediately see the current tariffs, the maximum parking time and the paid hours.
Once you have your zone, you can start parking right there by card, with no parking meter. It is worth comparing the displayed data with the signs posted on site.
What should I do if my phone cannot determine my location?
If you have no GPS or have not allowed location access, you can select the city manually in the zone finder, or browse the map to find the place where you are parking. This way every zone stays accessible even without location.
The zones of the selected city appear the same way, together with the tariffs and the paid hours, and you can start parking from there. Checking the signs on site is recommended here as well.
Does the zone finder also show the neighbouring zones?
Yes, the zone finder marks not only the zone you are standing in, but also draws the surrounding zones on the map. This is especially useful if you park on the border of two zones and it is not obvious which one applies to you.
For each zone you see the current tariffs and the paid hours separately, so you can easily compare the options nearby. The exact validity is confirmed by the signs on site.
How do I know whether the zone is chargeable right now?
For each zone the zone finder shows the paid period for the given day, or that parking is free that day. This way you immediately see whether you need to pay before you start parking.
The obligation to pay can differ by city and zone, as well as by the day and the day of the week. It is worth comparing the displayed times with the signs on site before parking.
After the zone finder, how do I start parking?
Once the zone finder has shown your zone, one button takes you to the purchase, where you enter the licence plate and the parking duration and then pay by card. Parking starts immediately after a successful payment and is linked to the licence plate.
There is no need for a parking meter, cash or SMS; the whole process can be completed from your phone in a few minutes.
